The Court of Appeal
In 1776 the Court of Appeal was built in (Old) Vaasa by Gustavus III, the second Court of Appeal in Finland. It was designed by superintendent C.F.Adelcrantz and completed in 1786. The belltower was added later in the 1800's.

This beautiful building, now serving as Korsholm Church, is set back from the road and accessed along a broad driveway flanked by tree covered lawns. Obviously, its relatively isolated position prevented its destruction during the Great Fire, and today it survives as one of the finest examples of Baroque architecture in Finland.
