These were taken on May 3rd, 2008, on Hietasaari island in Vaasa. It is very rare for nearly 25 degrees Celsius to arrive so early in the year.
These were taken on September 8th, 2007, at the annual fish market and festival which is held at the Inner Harbour. The last two of the set are of a lovely old traditional sailing boat.

Vaasa Prison is beautifully situated by the marina, but I'd happily choose freedom over a sea-view anyday.

Above is a scene from a post boat race held in front of the old customs house at the Inner harbour, during the summer of 2006. Vaasa University is in the background and beyond it, the flats of Palosaari.
