Views from the Birdwatching Tower

Sorry, pictures are from a phone-camera, so not up to the standard I would like. Access is from Vanhasatama, a wooden sign ("LINTUTORNI") pointing you off the main road (Hevossaarentie) onto a rough vehicle track into the forest - follow this for about 500 metres and look out for sign number two. This points you off to the right. The rough vehicle track continues in a windy fashion for a little less than a kilometre. The last sign appears. Leave the car here, or carry on to a bigger parking space by the sea (about 300 metres) and walk back.

The distance from here to the birdwatching tower is about 1km, most of it on Lapland-style board walks (if you are on your bike, leave it here, it won't help). There is a short board walk at first, which ends. Follow the path around to the left, and soon the board-walk continues. After that, if you get lost, you have no business venturing into the countryside ;-)

Looking east, almost back along the path.

Looking SSE, towards the mouth of the Laihia River.

Looking south.

Looking west.

Looking NW towards Sundom Bridge.

Looking north.

The tower itself.

There is a fireplace close-by, with firewood and benches.
