AIRSOFT GALLERY
This is the game of Airsoft. The guns, although exact copies of their real counterparts, fire harmless 6mm plastic pellets. The only danger is from a direct hit to the eyes, so all combatants must wear proper eye protection or they are not allowed to participate. The games are played in rounds, the objective being to capture some hill or whatever. When you are hit you are out until the next round. A round is over when, for example, one team has no men left, or the hill has been successfully captured. There are many versions of the rules. In the Vaasa area, games can have on occassion as many as 150 participants. Bigger games are arranged at a national level, with over a thousand young soldiers, and may last a full 48 hours.

The sport is played very professionally, with great regard to safety, and is supported by the Finnish Armed Forces.
